About the role
OEFS is seeking to hire a qualified person to work in a position of Post-Majority Care Social Worker Supervisor) under the Post-Majority Support Services Department. Please note that this is a Maternity Backfill for 18 months that would be starting around December 2025.
The position is located in the community of Elsipogtog First Nation, New Brunswick.
Position summary: The Post-Majority Care Supervisor oversees and coordinates the provision of support services to young adults who have transitioned out of the foster care system upon reaching between the ages of 21 - 26. This role involves supervising a team of social workers or case managers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, and implementing programmatic initiatives to enhance the support provided to transitioning youth. The supervisor collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, manages program operations, monitors outcomes, and provides leadership to promote the well-being and success of young adults in post-majority care.
Qualifications/Requirements Masters of Social Work Degree.
Be in good-standing with NBASW.
Previous experience working with young adults, preferably in a child welfare setting.
Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and services related to foster care, independent living, and youth services.
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Preference will be given to candidates with Indigenous Ancestry and proficiency in the Mi'kmaq language, as these skills are considered valuable assets for this position.
Provide suitable/valid criminal record checks
Salary: Between $85,000 and $115,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
