Role Introduction

The Data & Insights Executive will maximise revenue generation by planning, executing and effectively communicating proactive tactical fares. They will run reports and analyse data to help inform optimal pricing for the region and provide sales support for all pricing and fare related enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Planning & Execution

  • Use data analytics to create the optimal proactive sales calendar to support countries’/channels business objectives.
  • Use internal reporting to continually assess the need to stimulate demand through tactical pricing.
  • Work with internal distribution stakeholders to maximise revenue opportunities, with a ‘direct digital first’ approach.
  • Create tactical pricing proposals and negotiate with Revenue Management Office as required.
  • Provide clear and insightful internal communications to Direct/Indirect sales teams and Customer Contact Department (CCD) to help channels sell/service proactive tactical effectively.
  • Adopt a ‘test and learn’ approach through active participation in post-tactical reviews.
  • Track sales performance against targets and react quickly to optimise performance.
  • Monitor competitors in and outside of the industry for creative Tactical mechanisms and explore execution feasibility.
  • Provide regular and timely reviews of Global/Local PAB Segment fare levels and conditions.
  • Provide local market fare related market intelligence.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve existing processes.

Analytics Support

  • Provide regular business reports and help to translate the analytics into insights to enable the sales channel teams to evaluate their strategy and approach.
  • Run weekly/monthly reports for Business Development team analysis.
  • Identify trends and patterns in the data and report findings to the Business Development team
  • Using the data tools available, support sales and revenue forecasting for the business and at a channel level

Pricing

  • Be the SWP regional subject matter expert in pricing and fare loading, including GDS/NDC/Internet Booking Engine (IBE) sales mechanisms.
  • Provide internal Direct/Indirect sales support and servicing channels on all pricing topics.
  • Assist the Digital sales channels with updated Tax levels as required
  • Validate and process CX.com Price Promise claims
  • Support Head Office’s efforts to maximise network and ancillary revenue across all distribution channels.
  • Maintain awareness of local competitor fare/condition/product changes
  • Any other reasonable task as requested

E&A

  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required

Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Diploma / Certificate in a Sales, Marketing or related Business Field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Experience in, or knowledge of, the airline industry is a distinct advantage
  • Demonstrable acumen in Sales and Marketing
  • Proven ability to use numeracy and analytical skills to identify opportunities and risks to revenue generation – analysis to include revenue, market share, and yield trends
  • Proven numeracy and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good PC literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Adaptive to and embraces constant change

Additional Requirements

  • Must have the right to live and work in Canada
  • Must successfully pass reference checks
