Reporting to the Director, Quality Assurance, the successful applicant will assume a key role in identifying and containing non-conforming parts from being put into stock and product shipped to the customer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform inspections of purchased parts/materials, subassemblies and finished company products according to defined criteria by visual inspection with optical instruments, with mechanical/electrical measurement instruments or equipment and verifying documents and records
- Follow defined sampling procedures and recording lot/batch inspection results in Logs and record sheets
- Collaborate with QA Engineers if required with regards to the disposition of the non-conforming parts or products found.
- Input Incoming & Outgoing inspection data.
- Ensure inspection instruments & equipment are suitable for use (within calibration)
- Assist QA Engineers in the setup of new or revised parts inspection criteria and procedures
- Assist in the writing and updating of inspection procedures, protocols, visual inspection standards and checklists
- Perform In-Process Inspections if required of key processes according to predefined checklists
- Support the development of the Quality Management System (QMS) by identifying problems and suggesting opportunities for improvement
- Work hours will be 9:00am - 5:00pm or 10:00am - 6:00pm
- Fulfill other duties and responsibilities, as directed
Experience
- 2 years manufacturing or production-oriented experience, with some quality inspector/technician function
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) is a must
- Must have good English written and verbal communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude desired
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments
Skills/Additional requirements:
- Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy a must
- Demonstrate positive attitude and self-motivation
- Must be able to read mechanical drawings
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Pay / Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 CAD per hour

It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
