WHAT YOU WILL DO ON A DAILY BASIS
As a Senior Business Solutions Consultant – Dynamics 365 Business Central Projects/Jobs Module, you will act as the functional reference for the Projects scope. You will work on high-value implementation, optimization, and digital transformation projects (multi-team, integrations, billing and profitability challenges), handling scoping, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Jobs module. You will also play a functional lead role with decision-makers and contribute to the coaching of consultants and the quality of deliverables.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scoping & consulting (pre-sales / kick-off): Participate in pre-sales phases (qualification, scope, estimates, risks), challenge needs, and propose target (to-be) processes aligned with Business Central best practices (phasing, structuring, quick wins, change management).
- Functional analysis & design (lead): Facilitate advanced workshops (management, finance, PMO, operations), arbitrate process decisions, and design the end-to-end solution for Projects/Jobs (project structure, budgets, planning, cost/time tracking, WIP if applicable, revenue recognition as needed, billing).
- Deliverables & governance: Write/validate deliverables (functional specifications, business rules, scenarios, internal control/audit requirements) and ensure consistency and traceability of decisions.
- Configuration & deployment (Business Central – Jobs): Configure the Jobs module and its dependencies (templates, dimensions, categories, resources, project-related purchases, items, subcontracting) and ensure alignment with Finance (GL, analytics/dimensions, taxes, closings, budget control, validations).
- Advanced project billing: Implement and secure complex billing schemes (T&M, fixed price, milestones, progress, rebilling, grouping, retainers if required), ensuring reliability of costs/revenues/margins.
- Integrations, data & automation (coordination): Define extension, interface, and automation needs (Power Platform/AL/Azure) with the technical team; oversee data migration (mapping, quality rules, validations) and ensure performance, auditability, and reporting.
- Quality, testing, training & change management: Build the testing strategy (SIT/UAT), lead testing with key users, prepare and deliver training (key users/end users), support adoption, and orchestrate cutover, hypercare, and transition to support.
- Leadership & internal contribution: Mentor intermediate/junior consultants (deliverable reviews, best practices, skills development), contribute to internal standardization (templates, checklists, methods), and to the continuous improvement of the Projects/Jobs offering (accelerators, demos, feedback).
YOU WILL BE A PERFECT FIT FOR THE ROLE IF YOU HAVE:
- 7+ years in ERP consulting and/or finance/operations process transformation (or equivalent).
- 3 to 5+ years of significant experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with demonstrated expertise on the Projects/Jobs module.
- Participation in several end-to-end deployments (analysis → go-live), ideally in multi-department and/or multi-site settings.
- (Asset) Experience in “project-based” sectors: IT services, engineering, construction, maintenance, etc.
- End-to-end mastery of the Jobs module: structure/tasks, budgets, planning, cost/time tracking, performance, WIP as needed.
- Mastery of Finance/analytics: GL, dimensions, taxes, closing, budget control, auditability.
- Advanced project billing: T&M, fixed price, milestones, progress, rebilling, grouping, retainers (if required).
- (Strong asset) Power BI and reporting (BC reports, indicators).
- (Assets) Power Platform (Power Automate/Power Apps), knowledge of Azure, understanding of integrations (CRM, eCommerce, time management, BI/ETL).
- Excellent communication skills (workshops, committees, simplification) and ability to influence decisions.
- Strong capability in scoping, design, arbitration, and risk management.
- Leadership, mentoring spirit, customer service orientation.
- Ability to work in agile or hybrid mode (user stories, backlog, acceptance criteria).
