Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Residential. Landscape maintenance. Horticulture and/or gardening. Tasks: Direct planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Plan and direct grounds maintenance. Repair and maintain equipment. Supervise crew members. Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees. Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants. Apply fertilizers. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Rake and collect refuse. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Assess the health of lawns. Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment. Mixing fertilizer. Weeding. Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) certification. Certified Landscape Designer (CLD). Certified Landscape Horticulturist Manager (CLHM). Certified Landscape Horticulturist Technician (CLHT). Landscape Horticulturist Red Seal Certificate. Provincial licence/certification to apply chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides and pesticides. Type of product: Ornamental trees, shrubs and hedges. Flowers and plants. Landscaping experience: Residential projects. Equipment and machinery experience: Small engine equipment. Weed trimmer/edger. Planting equipment. Lawn mowers. Pressure washers. Area of specialization: Lawn care. Tree service. Grounds maintenance. Plant knowledge and identification. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines.
