THE OPPORTUNITY We have an eight (8) month contract opportunity for a Credit Administrator to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office. What You’ll Do As a Credit Administrator, you are responsible for managing and overseeing the administrative aspects of the credit process, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment. They are committed to providing exemplary client service and bring positive energy whether working independently or problem solving with team members.

This role requires the successful candidate to work onsite in the office five days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely processing of internal transfers including foreign exchange transactions
  • Respond to credit inquiries from our advisory team
  • Validate and approve payments from client accounts
  • Review client accounts to ensure compliance with internal credit, AML policies and FINTRAC
  • Investigate suspicious transactions and escalate to management
  • Monitor credit quality reports and follow up for appropriate action
  • Prepare Short Position report for reporting to CIRO
  • Prepare Guarantor reviews
  • Maintain policy and procedures manuals
  • Participate in key project initiatives
  • Ensure department timelines are met

  • Analysis – Assess quantitative and qualitative data, information, or situations to understand the most important details, identify patterns or meaning, and translate it into useful recommendations, decisions, or actions
  • Customer Service – Determine needs, capture relevant information, apply internal policy or regulation, and escalate and prioritize the requests of customers to answer inquiries, fulfill transactions, or resolve issues
  • Developing Reports – Gather, compile, organize, and present accurate information in structured reports to support sound business decisions or provide insight
  • Document and Information Management – Organize, store, maintain and retrieve documents, information and/or digital files to keep information accessible, orderly, secure, and up-to-date
  • Regulatory Knowledge – Understand and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards to meet legal and ethical requirements and reduce risk for clients and the firm
  • Risk Assessment – Identify, analyze, and evaluate risks to make decisions and take actions that manage their likelihood and impact on achieving our objectives for the benefit of our clients, firm, and communities

Knowledge And Experience

  • 1+ years of Client Services experience at a financial institution
  • Related experience in the investment industry, CIRO regulatory reporting, trusts and estates is an asset
  • Working knowledge of industry rules including AML, KYC, and CIRO margin requirements
  • Experience processing high volumes of transactions, with proven ability to deliver results within deadlines
  • Experience capturing workflows and control documentation
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and decision making within a policy and regulatory framework
  • Self-starter with the capacity to work independently, along with flexibility and willingness to assist others
  • Confident decision maker with an eye for detail and expert analytical problem-solving capability
  • Superior organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills, anchored in trust and respect
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • Experience with the Broadridge Dataphile is an asset
