About the role
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL POSTING
Priority shall be given to qualified Cree Beneficiaries
NATURE OF WORK
Under the direction of the Director of Digital Learning, this position encompasses responsibilities including to provide advice and support to school leadership, teachers, and pedagogical staff, to guide the pedagogical integration of digital technologies in the Youth Sector and to support the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and guidelines related to educational projects that are aligned to the digital learning objectives in the Youth Sector Strategic Action Plan (SAP).
Contribute to the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Cree School Board’s Digital Learning Framework.
Research, review, evaluate, and implement digital learning platforms for all programs and subject areas in the Youth sector: Elementary and Secondary; Cree, French and English Sectors.
Design and lead training workshops on all aspects of digital learning in accordance with the implementation of CSB programs and initiatives.
Support teachers with the development and planning of instructional activities or assessments that integrate digital resources or pedagogies effectively.
Stay current with emerging trends and innovations in educational technology (AI, gamification, learning analytics, etc.) to inform teaching and learning practices.
Write reports and articles relevant to digital learning in accordance with the Youth Sector Strategic Action Plan (SAP).
Support the development and facilitation of Makerspace activities that foster creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning through technology and design.
Collaborate with colleagues, schools, and Youth Sector departmental teams to support alignment and shared success in digital learning initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with a specialty in Educational Technology or equivalent.
Master’s in Education Technology or a similar field is an asset.
Teaching experience is required.
Permanent teaching permit (brevet) is an asset.
Knowledge of digital learning pedagogies and platforms is required.
Knowledge of Office 365 is required.
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of the French and Cree Language is an asset.
High level of autonomy and communication skills.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Regular full-time position.
35 hours/week
This position requires travelling in each community during the regular school year.
