About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering team developing advanced products and technologies. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in mechanical product design, testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for designing mechanical components and assemblies, supporting product testing, analyzing results, and driving continuous product improvements while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities Develop, modify, and validate mechanical designs for new and existing products. Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and documentation using Creo and SolidWorks. Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and engineering documentation. Execute mechanical testing and analyze results to identify design improvements. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design-related issues. Design components for CNC machining, injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal manufacturing. Support prototype development, product validation, and engineering verification activities. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure successful product development. Participate in design reviews and recommend innovative solutions to improve product quality and performance. Ensure designs meet engineering standards, quality requirements, and manufacturability objectives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 2 years of mechanical product design experience. Hands-on experience with Creo (Pro/E) for mechanical design and drafting. Experience with SolidWorks. Experience designing: CNC machined components Injection molded plastic parts Die-cast components Sheet metal assemblies Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work onsite in Mississauga at least 3 days per week. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing electro-mechanical or opto-mechanical products. Experience with vision systems. Knowledge of GD&T, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA). Experience supporting production and manufacturing. Hands-on experience with 3D printing and prototype development. Experience working with ODM/JDM manufacturing partners. Familiarity with Windchill PLM.
