Our dynamic and growing company is seeking skilled Field Service Technicians in Vancouver area to support our project. This exciting role involves traveling to client sites to perform installations, maintenance, service, and data collection for our advanced moisture monitoring systems, offering the unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and projects throughout North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to client sites to perform installations of electronics, maintenance, and repairs of sensor system components (cables, enclosures, sensors, etc.).
- Perform non-destructive testing practices and project site data collections.
- Maintain detailed photo and videographic records of site conditions and work performed.
- Create comprehensive field reports with site photos and coherent, detailed descriptions using provided templates.
- Carry and manage testing equipment and tools, typically around 50 lbs.
- Navigate construction site environments safely and effectively.
- Follow all company safety protocols, and work instructions diligently
**Qualifications:**Mandatory:
- Strong mechanical and analytical skills.
- Willingness and ability to work in Vancouver area and/or travel extensively (estimated 50-75%) throughout BC and other provinces, often on short notice.
- Dexterity in handling wires, cables, and electronics.
- Comprehensive technical writing skills for clear and concise report generation.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, responsible, punctual, and highly organized with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including varying outdoor conditions (Wind, Rain, Snow, Sun).
- Aptitude and willingness to learn and master SMT's proprietary technologies, procedures, and digital platforms.
- Specializations in Carpentry, Pipefitting, PLC Integrations, Low Voltage Electrical, or general Electrical experience will be an asset
- A reliable smartphone with a good quality camera for site photos, communication, and digital compliance submittals.
Preferred:
- Construction background and understanding of construction principles and procedures.
- Understanding of Electrical, Plumbing, & Roofing installation methods.
- WHMIS, OSHA 10/30, and/or Fall Arrest/Protection certification.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
