Who you are
In 2024, Contura Orthopedics expanded into Canada, and we are growing our Canadian team! We are seeking a Territory Account Manager who is self-motivated and results driven. The Territory Account Manager will be responsible for promoting and selling our hydrogel orthopedic products to prospective clients in the medical community throughout an assigned sales territory that includes Quebec and the Ottawa area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our company in this evolving industry.
Success in this role requires a combination of flexibility, wearing multiple hats, and the ability to thrive in an autonomous, customer-facing role. The Territory Account Manager will manage their territory independently and must excel at building strong relationships with healthcare professionals while maintaining a high level of accountability.
The ideal candidate must be fluent in both French and English and bring experience in medical sales and orthopedics. They will be required to drive regularly between Ottawa and Montreal, with some overnight travel to Quebec City/Trois-Riviere and Eastern Townships.
Territory covered: Eastern Ontario and Quebec (Ottawa and Montreal, with some overnight travel to Quebec City/Trois-Riviere and Eastern Townships).
Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales strategies to generate leads, acquire new customers, and achieve sales targets for our products. Identify and prospect potential clients and customers in the biotechnology and life sciences sectors through cold calling, networking, and relationship building. Present product features, benefits, and value propositions to key decision-makers and stakeholders to drive sales and revenue growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to support sales initiatives and meet customer needs. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement and market expansion. Promote and maintain the Company’s brand image within the marketplace. Provide input and assist in the development of presentations and other marketing initiatives. Create and conduct in-depth sales presentations. Identify and resolve risks associated with the delivery and/or provision of customer contracts; manage client expectations throughout the contract. Pursue contract renewals. Ensure overall client satisfaction. Conduct and develop quarterly and annual account reviews in order to effectively manage account lifecycles. Analyze, assess, and document client results to ensure customer needs are being met.
Qualifications
Must be fluent in both French and English. Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field. 5+ years of previous experience in sales or business development within the biotechnology or life sciences industry. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas. Experience in a start-up organization or a dynamic environment, with a clear understanding of the fast pace and need for adaptability and resourcefulness. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with stakeholders. Strong consultative skills. Able to assess client needs, develop proposals and deliver solutions. Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills, with a high degree of tact and persuasiveness. Ability to write clear and concise value proposition statements. Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills. Ability to create and edit sales materials and presentations. Ability to coordinate, organize and present product demonstrations and other events. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated initiative and adaptability in a role that requires independent decision-making and has minimal oversight.
Working Conditions
Requirement to drive regularly between Ottawa and Montreal, with some overnight travel to Quebec City/Trois-Riviere and Eastern Townships. Requirement to travel and attend industry events/conferences. Potential long hours of walking, interacting and engaging with other conference attendees. Must have access to high-speed internet and a private workspace while working remotely from home. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel to clinics, visit customers and attend meetings. Must have a valid passport for national/international travel to other Contura offices, when required.
