The Duff Roblin Professor of Government Nominations and applications are invited for the appointment of the Duff Roblin Professor of Government. The Professorship is supported by an endowment established by the late Honourable Duff Roblin, former Premier of Manitoba. The purpose of the professorship is to enhance the study of Canadian Government and public affairs. The appointment will begin July 1, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate for the Roblin Professorship will have made a significant contribution to the study and understanding of Canadian government, politics, and public policy. The Roblin Professor shall teach six credit hours in Canadian Politics within or cross-listed with the Department of Political Science and will oversee and supervise the holders of the Roblin Graduate Fellowships. The Roblin Professor will give one annual public lecture and will, during the term, organize a conference or colloquium on an appropriate subject.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The appointment will be for up to three years and may be renewed for a further term of up to three years. The appointment is limited to those currently holding a full-time tenured academic appointment at the University of Manitoba. The successful applicant will hold an appointment or affiliation with the Department of Political Science. Funds from the endowment provide a stipend, research funds, and a teaching release for the Duff Roblin Professor.
