About the role
Jazz Lévis is currently seeking a candidate to fill a part-time night shift patient care attendant position for a long-term temporary replacement. ***Candidates must hold a valid AP/RPA or DEP diploma in Personal Assistance in Institutions and at Home, or a RAC (Recognition of Acquired Competencies) certificate, or have accumulated 5,000 hours of PAB (Patient Care Attendant) training within the last 5 years, plus current 16-hour CPR certification and completed PDSP (Patient Care and Support Program).***
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Schedule: 4/14 night shift (midnight to 8:00 a.m.) with one weekend out of two.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around
- Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
- Contribute to the development of a residentsè action plan based on their observations
- Distribute medication in pill organizers and provide some invasive care (as needed and provided you have the necessary training)
- Respond to all emergency situations
- While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Up-to-date CPR/AED general first aid training
- Law 90 training (an asset)
- AP/RPA or DEP training in personal assistance in establishments and at home
- PDSP training
