Duties:

  • Wash and organize pots, pans, small-wares and cutlery using dishwasher or by hand, in order to support the smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Ensure dishes are clean, sanitized and ready for use.
  • Maintain daily cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing areas, including simple maintenance on dishwasher.
  • Monitor dishwashing equipment, including cycle temperatures and cleaning chemicals, and report malfunctions to Supervisor.
  • Assist in other cleaning including clearing dishes, removing garbage, recycling, etc.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with food service staff, instructors and
  • students.
  • May perform other duties such as counting inventory.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or some high school plus additional training.
  • Up-to-date FoodSafe Level One.
  • Minimum six months of recent related experience in a food service position.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for five to six hours daily in a hot, damp environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout entire shift.
  • Ability to place these items on high and low shelves.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding duties quickly and efficiently.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to work within an educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cashier or prep cook experience.
