We are a growing architectural and engineering consulting firm specializing in commercial and residential building projects. We are seeking a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of projects.
About the Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of electrical systems for new construction and renovation. You will work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants to deliver integrated, code-compliant, and efficient designs.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and/or Revit Perform load calculations, lighting design, power distribution, circuiting, fire alarm and security system design, and generator sizing Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, CSA, etc) Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders Conduct site visits, reviews, and support construction phase services Assist in preparing permit documentation and responding to authority comments Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline 5+ years of experience in building electrical design (consulting experience preferred) Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience considered a strong asset Familiarity with Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and Ontario Building Code (OBC), Life Safety related CSA standards such as CSA C282, CAN/ULC-S524, S537, etc.
Strong understanding of building systems, load calculations, and lighting design
Excellent communication and teamwork skills EIT or P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) preferred
