Position Summary
Are you ready to lead a high-impact, leading-edge program that shapes the next generation of advanced care paramedics? The Program Manager – Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Program within JIBC’s Health Sciences Division (HSD) plays a pivotal role in guiding program design, delivery, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Director, you will combine your educational expertise, curriculum development experience, and business acumen to ensure the program meets accreditation standards, stays current with industry best practices, and delivers an exceptional learning experience for students and instructors alike.
In this role, you will foster strong partnerships with students, clinical educators, preceptors, employers, regulators, and professional associations, ensuring the program remains responsive to evolving needs. You will lead faculty teams, support student success, drive program growth, and collaborate across HSD and JIBC divisions to enhance program reach and impact. Your work will influence not only curriculum and course delivery, but also the broader professional landscape of advanced paramedic education.
You will also oversee program finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, ensuring the ACP program is sustainable and aligned with strategic objectives. By bringing together leadership, operational management, and a passion for excellence, you will play a central role in advancing transformative, industry-leading education for paramedics across British Columbia.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Paramedicine, Education), preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience managing complex programs or projects, preferably in a post-secondary education setting.
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
- Experience in financial management and budget oversight is an asset.
- Current knowledge of paramedicine practice and trends at the ACP level or higher.
- Preference will be given to candidates with clinical practice experience in paramedicine in British Columbia.
- Expertise in adult education principles and development of culturally safe, relevant curriculum.
- Strong collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships, foster trust, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Proven ability to market training and education programs and develop proposals.
- Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and sensitivity when addressing complex issues.
