White River Forest Products (WRFPL) is a private corporation that owns and operates a sawmill and Sustainable Forest License (SFL) located in Northwestern Ontario located at White River, Ontario.

WRFPL was conceived and founded by the Township of White River and the Pic Mobert First Nation who purchased the sawmill assets from Domtar.

WRFPL is a community based company that is owned by private investors, Pic Mobert First Nations and the White River Economic Development Corporation.

WRFPL has commenced a multi-million dollar re-investment program and has restarted operations on October, 1, 2013. Direct employment at the mill for production, management and administration is approximately 140 positions.

WRFPL is working proactively to maximize hiring from the local communities and is also committed to supporting the Pic Mobert First Nation to establish a harvesting contract operation that will employ Pic Mobert band members and seed new enterprises based in the First Nation. Other harvest contractors will also supply wood to the company. A crew contracted through the Pic Mobert First Nation’s development corporation, White Lake Resources Corp., is on site providing support and employing people from White River and the Pic Mobert First Nation.

The White River sawmill complex is centrally located within the White River SFL area and is known for its ability to produce high quality lumber products from wood sourced from forests in the local and surrounding region. WRFPL’s objective is to produce approximately 150 million board feet of FSC certified Random Length, stud and value added products.
