Global Banking & Markets (GBM) provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious & metals. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
As a Trade Floor Technology Consultant, you will provide responsive technical consulting and support for solving computer and related technology issues on Scotiabank’s trade floor. As part of the Global Banking & Markets, Trade Floor Support & Automation team, you will:
- Analyze issues and then resolve, escalate, or redirect such issues to the appropriate channels.
- Implement leading-edge trading technologies used on the trade floor such as Bloomberg to constantly improve trade floor capabilities.
- Be responsible for handling and configuring a wide variety of mobile devices, such as laptops, iPhones, and tablets.
- Work on a variety of projects including new technology initiatives, data analysis, and analytics.
- May also take on programming tasks such as development of in-house web-based tools for optimization of trade floor processes.

- You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
- You love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future.
- You enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and competitions/hackathons.
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- You have effective problem solving and analytical skills.
- You are comfortable troubleshooting computer applications and handling computer hardware.
- Having knowledge or experience with web or database programming (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, C#) will be an additional asset.
- You have experience in working in the Windows environment (e.g. Windows 10).
- Having experience with network administration will be useful.
- Familiarity with the latest computer hardware and electronics and a broad understanding of today’s cellular and wireless technologies are an asset.
- You have a high level of attention to detail.
- You have high professional standards.
- You have a high level of energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts.
