Job Description
The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for a Maintenance Superintendent. Nuna is Canada's leading and largest Inuit-owned heavy civil construction, mining and remediation contractor. We're known for tackling the toughest projects with unmatched agility, integrity and precision, none of which would be possible without our diverse and versatile equipment fleet.
The ideal candidate will have excellent diagnostic skills with the ability to mentor and train other technicians. A keen eye for detail and the ability to understand logistics while managing shifting priorities will also be key attributes found in the right candidate. This role requires frequent travel to Nuna's many project sites, some of which are in remote locations, so flexibility and the skill to build relationships quickly and easily is essential.

Some Key Responsibilities:

Prioritize and role model Nuna's values by fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Implementation and standardization of equipment maintenance practices, procedures and processes across Nuna project sites.
-
Prepare budgets and monitor metrics such as equipment maintenance costs, project expenditures, and equipment availability.

Supervision and mentorship of mechanical crews, including participation in apprenticeship development programs.

Regular trips to projects sites, vendor locations etc. across Canada.

Work with estimating team for resource planning during estimate and bid stage.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated skills leading and mentoring diverse groups of individuals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detailed, accurate and results-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of services.
- Intermediate computer skills with a comfort level in working with equipment monitoring systems.
- Advance diagnostic skills in both heavy and light equipment.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Previous knowledge and experience working with equipment and part vendors.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Experience working in remote northern regions is an asset.
Work Experience and Education:

Five (5) years' of progressive supervisory experience in a related position.

Post-secondary education from a recognized post-secondary facility in the Heavy Equipment field.

Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Ticket is required.
