About St.Jean's Cannery & Smokehouse
St. Jean's Cannery & Smokehouse is the largest cannery serving the sport fishing industry in British Columbia and the largest salmon cannery in southern B.C. Business operations include retail and wholesale gourmet seafood production, sales, and distribution in additon to custom sport fish processing and shipping.
The St. Jean's brand has been synonymous with quality gourmet seafood since the company began in 1961 -- when Armand St. Jean smoked Pacific oysters in a homemade backyard shed! Even now, with a full-sized production and manufacturing facility and international sales, St. Jean's is still family-owned and still hand-packs all of its canned seafood to ensure quality control.
A substantial part of the St. Jean's Cannery operations involves processing and shipping sport fish from the Pacific Northwest. St. Jean's has shipping agreements with many fishing lodges and depots on the British Columbia coast. Staff at three smokehouses and a HACCP-certified food processing facility produce smoked, candied, canned, filleted, and vacuum-packed seafood products. For frozen seafood, St. Jean's has partnered with Fed Ex to offer frozen shipping to residential or commercial locations.
