Baker Tilly RSG is seeking aManager - Audit & Assuranceto join our team, specializing in audit and general practice services for non-profit and privately held organizations. The role focuses on ASPE and ASNPO-compliant financial reporting, Canadian tax compliance, and year-end engagements. You’ll lead audit, review and compilation files, prepare personal and corporate tax returns, and provide practical guidance to clients. As a key team member, you’ll also support and mentor junior staff while building strong client relationships through responsive, professional service.

Your role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead and execute audit, review and compilation engagements under ASPE, PSAS and ASNPO standards

  • Provide advisory support to clients, offering insights into financial planning and decision-making

  • Manage projects, time, budgets, work in progress and billings for self and direct reports

  • Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships

  • Manage and mentor junior level team members including file review

  • Develop new client leads and relationships through community involvement and networking

  • Assist in developing and managing various engagement reporting and filing deadlines as well as firm processes and policies

  • Remain up to date on accounting and auditing technology and industry changes, news and trends

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain CPA designation and role expertise

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong desire and dedication to work and learn in a dynamic work environment

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • CPA designation with minimum 5 years of experience in public practice

  • 3+ years of public practice experience with significant audit and assurance exposure

  • Previous management experience or training

  • Experience with non-profit and private entities

  • Strong knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, PSAS and Canadian tax compliance (T1, T2, GST, T4, T5)

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, Sage)

  • Solid understanding of accounting and tax fundamentals

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365 and other relevant applications

Monday to Friday

Working Conditions:

The Manager will be required to work in an office environment, with the option of some remote flexibility. They will be required to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer for extended periods of time. They may also be required to travel occasionally for training or meetings.
