Position Summary Working in a collaborative, innovative, fast paced environment, the Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting and maintaining the project schedule and budget for the project's construction contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with the overall project execution including costs, schedule, document control, quality and project status
  • Manage the flow of all documentation for the project, sub-trades and site
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with the client and trades
  • Track costs on the project and report to Project Manager
  • Assist the Project Manager with issuing subcontracts, O.'s and related paperwork
  • Coordinate the procurement of resources in a timely manner to maintain project schedule
  • Attend site meetings and record minutes as required
  • Assist in the tracking of project deficiencies
  • Record and document specific instructions such as color/suite selections
  • Involvement in all aspects of project closeout
  • Review shop drawings, specifications and samples to ensure that are compliant with contract documentation
  • Coordinate the procurement of resources
  • Maintain change log and track changes in design and logistics
  • Ensure the maintenance of a document control file, including test and inspection reports
  • Identify the impacts of changes made to project schedules and costs
  • Be responsible for updating project actuals

Education & Experience

  • 1 -5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Field Engineer in the construction industry working for a general contracting construction company
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering, Construction or a related field
  • Project Management Professional certification an asset
  • LEED ® Accreditation highly valued
  • Up-to-date Safety Certifications (eg. Working at Heights, Fall Protection, H&S)

Required Skills

  • Experience with project management and/or scheduling software (eg. MS Project, Procore)
  • Proven ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and enjoy working collaboratively and cross- functionally
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and be flexible in meeting competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in reviewing, analyzing and effectively critiquing building plans, specifications and contract documents
  • Able to articulate the impact of changes to project schedules and cost
  • Demonstrates an understanding of construction sequencing
