Job Summary:

Provide security support at a variety of facilities by maintaining a safe and secure environment for visitors and employees. Support contracted staff and help to ensure that all members of the on-site team are performing their duties as required, while enforcing set policies and procedures that maintain the safety and security of the facility, they are working in.

Employment Type: Part Time Contract

**Shift:**20 hours per week,10:00am - 2:00 am

**Compensation:**CAD $ 20.50 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol the premises and check surveillance feeds consistently
  • Report safety issues, such as hazards, vandalism and suspicious or criminal activity
  • Avert inventory losses by reporting missing items, inconsistencies and damaged property
  • Answer the phone when requested or during non-business hours
  • Keep an eye on the entrance and exit to prevent theft and ensure workplace security
  • Monitoring of video surveillance equipment
  • Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities
  • Regular foot patrol of interior and exterior perimeter
  • Access control management by ensuring entry to authorized persons only
  • Examine all doors, windows and gates to ensure they are secure
  • Maintain the organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
  • Respond to any suspicious activity on or in relation to the premises
  • Ensure visitors and contractors sign in and out
  • Follow and understand all documentation procedures and SOPs
  • Advise security staff of any relevant changes / notices at start of shift and record all necessary information on security documents
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required, secondary education is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the security industry
  • Must hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Must hold a valid Standard First Aid certificate
  • Valid Class Drivers License
  • Experience / knowledge working in an Access Control Systems with CCTV monitoring
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexible schedule for shifts
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Emotional intelligence and good character judgment
  • Must be available to work on call to cover if someone calls in sick
  • Must be available to work evenings or weekends for coverage
