About the role
Helcim was founded with a mission at heart: to be the world’s most loved payment system. We believe that by offering small businesses in North America a decidedly human payment solution where it is easier to sign up and use while being transparent and affordable, we can empower them to grow and prosper. Simply put, helping small businesses thrive is at the very core of our business model, and we think that’s a great way to do business.
From the very start, we knew that we wanted to be different from every payment processor out there. We want the merchants we serve to feel supported and see us as a trusted partner rather than simply just another “cost of doing business.” We are relentless in our pursuit to provide a radically transparent and honest payments solution that flat out saves business owners money, all while treating them like human beings.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and wants to own meaningful, complex product deliveries end-to-end. This is a high-impact role responsible for shaping and evolving our merchant experiences across software and payment hardware — including our Point-of-Sale apps and connected payment devices. You’ll operate with significant ownership, drive clarity in ambiguity, and partner closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
You may come from a startup, scale-up, or other rapid-growth company where priorities shift quickly, resources are constrained, and impact matters. You’re comfortable navigating complexity and turning it into execution. Mobile experience is a strong asset — but what matters most is your ability to build exceptional merchant-facing products in fast-moving environments.
Job requirements:
- 6+ years of product management experience, in a high-growth, fast-paced company
- Proficiency in agile development methodologies, along with experience using tools for roadmap planning and backlog management.
- Proven track record of shipping customer-facing products with measurable impact
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and bringing structure to complexity
- Strong execution mindset — you move from idea to shipped product efficiently
- Highly data-informed but not data-paralyzed
- Excellent communicator who can simplify complex ideas
- Deeply customer-centric with strong product intuition
Nice to have:
- Experience building mobile applications (iOS or Android)
- Experience with connected hardware or hardware-software ecosystems
- Experience in fintech, payments, or SMB-focused products
- If you don’t check every box — apply anyway. High-performing product leaders often come from diverse paths.
Job responsibilities:
Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and drive the product vision for key commerce experiences
- Build and continuously evolve a clear, outcome-driven roadmap aligned to company objectives
- Make principled trade-offs between speed, scope, and quality
- Identify opportunities for innovation across software and hardware touchpoints
Execution & Delivery
- Own the full product lifecycle — from discovery and validation through launch and optimization
- Translate customer needs and business goals into clear, actionable product requirements
- Partner deeply with engineering and design to deliver high-quality experiences
- Maintain a continuously refined and prioritized backlog to drive execution with urgency while maintaining high standards
- Ship meaningful improvements consistently — not just big releases
Growth & Optimization
- Define and track KPIs tied to adoption, retention, performance, and merchant success
- Use data, research, and discovery habits to inform prioritization
- Continuously improve the merchant experience through iteration
- Develop strong intuition for what makes small businesses successful — and build for it
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Align stakeholders across engineering, operations, sales, support, and leadership
- Communicate product strategy and progress clearly at all levels
- Influence without authority
- Raise the bar for product thinking across the organization
