**Location:**St. Catharines, Ontario (CA-ON)
**Hours of work:**A minimum of 44 hours every 2 weeks
**Assignment:**Temporary (May - September 2026)
**# of openings:**6
**Salary:**32.52/hour as of April 2025

Your role

The Linehandler is responsible to execute the activities related to the handling of vessel mooring lines during tie-up and cast-off procedures, monitor security at the locks by performing inspections and monitoring cameras, and perform minor general labour and lock maintenance tasks, in order to ensure the safe, secure and efficient transit of vessels.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform all activities related to receiving and casting off mooring lines for vessels.

  • Perform general lock maintenance duties and assist in handling minor emergency repairs to lock equipment.

  • Perform any activities related to security of the operational facilities, in compliance with the applicable security requirements.

  • Apply safe work methods in compliance with corporate safety programs and applicable legislation.

Your profile

  • Hold a high school diploma and have completed at least one year of post-secondary studies.
  • Currently enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program (Winter 2026 and Fall 2026).
  • Valid Class G (Ontario) or Class 5 (Quebec) driver’s license with an insurable driving record (probationary license not admissible).
  • Ability to communicate in English to ensure the safe passage of ships and boats through the Seaway.
  • Eligibility for Marine Transportation Security Clearance.
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule and be on call as required.
  • Ability to work at heights, at depths, near open water, or in confined spaces.
  • Availability to undergo a medical examination, functional abilities evaluation, and drug test.
