PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm specializing in the engineering and design of overhead & underground transmission/distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations. Our expertise allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.
Phasor is currently seeking a full-time Project Manager to join our Substations team in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Project Management Office, the Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the project. Including, project planning, execution, communication, risk management, budgeting, and scheduling. The candidate will manage projects from start to finish and ensure timely execution, coordination with various teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities of the Project Engineer typically include:
- Project Planning: Develop a detailed project plan that includes timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project team members.
- Coordination: Coordinate with various teams, including design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning teams, to ensure project goals are met.
- Quality Control: Ensure the project adheres to quality standards and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, meeting notes, technical specifications, and change orders.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Problem-solving: Identify and resolve technical issues and problems that arise during the project.
- Other duties as requested and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized educational institution.

Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Project Engineer.

Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in Canada, directly related to Transmission, Distribution or Substation Engineering.

Registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration as an EIT with a provincial regulatory association.

PMP certification or willingness to obtain certification within one year of hire.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in high paced environment prioritizing critical tasks.

High attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work.

Must be able to travel to project sites.

Maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
