About the role
Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a well established heavy civil construction company specializing in mass excavation, drilling and blasting, pipe and underground utility, concrete placement and asphalt paving. We are currently looking to hire an experiencedHydrostatic Pipe Testerto perform hydrostatic pressure testing on pipes, pipelines, tanks, vessels, and related systems. This is a critical quality control and safety role within out company.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in this role, a valid drivers license and an acceptable drivers abstract, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and test procedures to determine testing requirements and layout.

Assist in assembling or installing pipe systems, fittings, valves, and supports as needed before testing.

Prepare the system for testing: fill with water (or other approved medium), install temporary blinds/caps, vents, drains, pumps, hoses, calibrated pressure gauges, and recording equipment.

Conduct hydrostatic tests: pressurize the system to the specified test pressure, hold for a required duration, monitor for pressure drops, and visually inspect for leaks, deformation, or failures.

Safely rig and operate testing equipment, pumps, and tools while following OSHA, site safety protocols, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Document test results: record pressures, hold times, temperatures, observations, and any issues; prepare reports or certifications.

Identify and repair minor leaks or defects if authorized; coordinate with crews for fixes.

Clean, flush, and maintain pipe systems, fittings, and test equipment post-testing.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regs (e.g., proper water disposal), and project specifications.

Work on water, wastewater, stormwater, or municipal pipelines, outdoors in trenches, rights-of-way, or construction sites.
