Job Description:

The VP, Infrastructure, Network and Data Center is primarily responsible for providing enterprise leadership through business leadership committees, shaping the future of the business by enabling best in class solutions

Senior enterprise leaders are expected to demonstrate high personal and professional standards, act with integrity, honesty, diligence and in good faith for the best interests of TD, role-model the TD Framework, and actively foster a culture of inclusion. Senior Leaders are expected to promote a culture of integrity and ethical business conduct, avoid potential or actual conflicts of interest and comply with applicable policies of the Bank, including the Disclosure Policy and the Code of Conduct and Ethics.

Depth and Scope

  • Engineer and deploy scalable solutions for both global networks and data centers
  • Identify, research, evaluate and implement emerging network technologies
  • Ability to drive a hyperconverged and virtualized/cloud strategy
  • Lead the team that maintains and manages the global network
  • Familiarity with scripting language (python, go), common configuration management tools and API based automation is a plus
  • End to end accountability for physical data center facilities including capacity planning, resiliency design, power, cooling, space, connectivity and lifecycle mgmt
  • Operational risk & regulatory compliance ensuring data centers meet GSIB standards for availability, disaster recovery, cyber/physical security and global regulatory requirements
  • Strategic optimization & modernization – drive cost efficiency and migration planning where appropriate aligned with business and tech strategy
  • Lead the team responsible for configuration, installation and maintenance, in-depth troubleshooting tasks and documentation of any new network issues
  • Work with Network Planning teams to implement new solutions
  • Collaborate with our IT Vendor Management and Global Procurement teams on vendor relationships and key contract requirements
  • Manage vendor relationships and key milestones for Infrastructure on-time delivery
  • Drive metric driven quarterly business vendor review
  • Report on key metrics for Infrastructure products: Service delivery performance, Vendor performance, Financial performance to budget
  • Maximizes network efficiency by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages, managing upgrade schedules and collaborating with vendors
  • Escalation of problems as appropriate to senior management
  • Ability to analyze and design network systems to achieve efficient and secure operation
  • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis
  • Experience working in large enterprise networks desired. The ability to work under pressure and interface with senior management will be key to these roles
  • Thorough understanding of IP concepts including routing, VLAN's QoS, tuning and capacity management concepts
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to synchronize deployment and project acceptance schedules

Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Post graduate degree or advanced courses in business management or technology related field or equivalent business experience strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Experience leading Network services
  • Infrastructure leadership experience in one or more functions
  • Experience in building a new teams and new functions, and applying an organization change management discipline
  • Experience reporting to and communicating with executive stakeholders (e.g. VP, SVP, EVP level executives)
  • Proven ability to collaborate across a large organization to effectively realize outcomes
  • Experience leading transformational change
  • Experience managing regulatory / compliance requirements
  • History of making an impact, developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
  • Proven ability to leverage deep subject matter expertise to develop and deploy a vision and align others to that vision
  • Known for providing creative thought leadership while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of that vision
  • Passionate to succeed and acts as an internal advocate; remains resilient under pressure
