Purpose of Role:
The purpose of this role is to support the processes, procedures and systems that are required to ensure financial reporting is accurate and complete. This role also supports the Manager of Financial Reporting in the preparation and analysis of complex accounting issues, assists with working papers needed for the preparation of quarterly financial statements and MD&A and will be part of the accounting policy project team.
Role Accountabilities:

Support the external financial reporting process:
- Prepare complex monthly journal entries in SAP
- Perform aggregation of business unit reporting templates and initial trial balance inputs for the preparation of the external financial reporting documents
- Assist in the preparation of external financial reporting documents (quarterly financial statements and MD&A)
- Perform a quality check for consistency, grammar of all external financial reporting documents
- Perform a quality review of our supporting working papers and perform a tick & tie of all external financial reporting documents
- Perform oversight controls for revenue including the monitoring of weights & assays and valuation of receivables and other MD&A analysis
- Prepare monthly Corporate cost reports for various departments heads.
- Prepare annual stream accounting working papers
- Prepare consolidated CSR and ESTMA environmental reports
- Assist with internal and external auditor requests

Preparation and research of complex accounting standards and new standards
- Manage the quarterly issues log
- Research and document resolution to accounting issues as directed by management
- Prepare supporting journal entries to record such issues and maintain monthly supporting schedules

Continuous improvement of financial system and processes
- Compile and improve reporting templates for the site within Wdesk
- Ensure system generated reports are updated when new accounts are created or new business units are added.

Preparer of consolidated revenue analysis for oversight review and MD&A preparation purposes
- Quarterly sales reporting package
- Quarterly weights & assay adjustment report
- Prepare revenue recognition memos related to sales contracts on a quarterly basis
- Monthly revenue analysis

Experience, Skill and Knowledge:
Experience needed to perform job accountabilities well:

At least 3 years of experience working in an audit or accounting role

Diverse experience beyond Audit at a public accounting firm strongly considered

Graduate degree in accounting, business, or finance

Completed CPA designation
Knowledge & skills needed to perform job accountabilities well:

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and non-verbal) including delivering high-quality technical memos

Confident liaising with other groups and various levels of management to deliver information to both financial and non-financial teams.

Demonstrates the ability to take ownership of issues and tasks through to resolution.

Purpose of Role:
The purpose of this role is to support the processes, procedures and systems that are required to ensure financial reporting is accurate and complete.
