Your Opportunity
Our local Burnaby Power Delivery team is currently seeking an Engineering Student looking to gain exposure to a unique and dynamic organization. Specific assignments and tasks will be dependent upon the candidate’s field of study and relevant experience. Assignments will fall within the domains of electrical, civil, structural, and environmental engineering as they pertain to a variety of engineering projects that Stantec is currently engaged in across Canada.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assisting substation, transmission or distribution design teams with day-to-day tasks and projects including coordination of drawings and details.
- Taking part in design calculations and plans, ensuring compliance with standards, guidelines, code requirements, and other applicable regulations.
- Tracking project actions and milestones and participating in documentation control.
- General duties, requests, and special projects as directed.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Superior time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interest in developing new skills and career advancement.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Project, Word, and Excel would be an asset.
Education and Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program
- Available to work starting in January 2026 for a 12-month term minimum, with preference for longer terms. Please clearly state on your application the desired length of term.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range
- $23.37 - $32.07 Hourly
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
