Education and Training:
-
Graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program.
-
Demonstrated current professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) to include the appropriate specialties (minimum requirement: Phlebotomy, Biochemistry, Transfusion Science, Bacteriology and Hematology).

Current WHMIS certification and Mask Fit.
-
Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.
Experience:
-
Recent MLT experience in Core Lab preferred.
Knowledge:
-
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of medical laboratory sciences basing practice on current techniques and scientific knowledge.
Demonstrated Skills/Ability:
-
Demonstrated ability to recognize, troubleshoot and communicate equipment/reagent related malfunctions and initiate appropriate remedial action.
-
Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze QC data for the purposes of quality control, verification of test results, and implement corrective action when required.
-
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other health care professionals.

Demonstrated proficiency in data entry and working knowledge of computerized patient information systems.
Personal Suitability:
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.
