North Vancouver Recreation & Culture is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. We offer a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. ABOUT THE JOB
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Spring Break Leaders for our various spring break camps including programs for school-aged children and youth which run from March 16-27, 2026.

ABOUT YOU
You are a team player committed to community. You are courteous and effective with the public and enjoy working with a diverse group of people. You are able to assist in leading a wide variety of programs and activities including sports, arts and crafts, games, and neighborhood walks while working within a team. Playground Leader 1’s work cooperatively with children, their parents, other Camp Leaders, facility staff and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Previous camp experience and/or experience working with groups of children in an organized activity

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

  • High Five- Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification (available online through BCRPA)

  • Preferred candidates will be available Monday to Friday for the duration of Spring Break 2026

  • Previous volunteer experience working with children/youth considered an asset

  • Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working in a role with children in a variety of settings such as camps, arts and crafts, dance and sports.

Shifts for this unionized position are typically from Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 40 hours a week, but may vary depending on program requirements. The pay for this auxiliary position is $23.19 plus 12% in lieu of benefits.

All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. All candidates must be prepared to work at any of our locations. Candidates must be comfortable swimming or going into swimming pools.
