Responsible for planning, installing, documenting, scheduling, operating and providing for the integrity of Network Servers, including hardware, wiring, and operating Systems.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist the IT team in researching and evaluating new technologies to support organizational needs and improve existing systems.
  • Support server hardware and infrastructure activities, including system setup, basic configuration, and documentation under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Provide basic technical assistance and internal support to team members and other departments as directed.
  • Help with monitoring and maintaining servers, storage, and backup systems to ensure reliability and availability.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts for system issues with guidance from IT administrators.
  • Learn and contribute to the planning and testing of system upgrades, maintenance tasks, and contingency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of hardware, software, and configuration details.
  • Follow IT policies and safety practices, promptly reporting any issues or irregularities.
  • Support ongoing IT projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively within a diverse and dynamic IT team while developing professional and technical skills.

What skills you will need:

  • Basic understanding or coursework in Linux/Unix systems (e.g., RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and familiarity with Windows administration.
  • Interest in learning Oracle Application Administration, WebLogic, and database management (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as PHP or Laravel considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with basic network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and domain configurations.
  • Interest in learning virtualization technologies such as VMWare and server operating systems (Windows Server 2012/2016).
  • Exposure to or willingness to learn about enterprise messaging systems, data backup and recovery, and storage management.
  • Understanding of or coursework related to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Enthusiasm to support IT administration, data center operations, and system maintenance under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Currently pursuing a college diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Working knowledge of SCCM/SMS, Citrix, WSUS, MDT, IIS, ISA, AV, Streaming Video
  • Working knowledge of Blade Centers, SAN and Fiber channel Storage, Management Software
  • Experience with Clustered Services (MSCS, NLB)
  • Knowledge of IBM Power System
