About the role

Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Rural area. Relocation costs covered by employer. Social and family service agency. Child Welfare Organization. Employee Assistance Program. Counselling, social agency. Tasks: Evaluate the effectiveness of social programs . Interview client individually, in families, or in groups, to assess their situation and problems to determine the types of services required . Investigate cases of child abuse or neglect. Perform administrative tasks. Plan programs of assistance for clients. Refer clients to agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment and other services. Provide public education and consultation regarding counselling services, issues and methods. Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals working with a client group. Advocate on client's behalf in courts or at hearings. Develop prevention and intervention programs to meet community needs.
