Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the SVP, Life, Health and Credit Protection, TD Insurance, this role is critical to leading sales, distribution and delivery excellence teams offering our TD Life and Health products to our collective clients predominantly in the customer assisted channels. The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
- Continue to best position and evolve TDI Life and Health's distribution sales team, channel management and sales effectiveness strategy across all products – Credit Protection, Balance Protection, Term Life and Travel, spanning in-person branch and MMS channels, Business Banking, Wealth, phone channel and digital channels as well as TDI cross-sales (PCA and Affinity)
- Have strong focus on relationship building and maintenance with TD partners in TDI and across TDBG. Manage and influence internal partners including underlying product and non-TDI distribution channels, to support the growth of insured customers and OneTD alignment.
- Own the TDI Life and Health Distribution & Delivery Excellence teams covering the MMS, Branch, Business banking and Wealth channels, the performance reporting and performance management teams. Support education to front line distribution teams of our partners relating to TDI's product and value propositions and integration with other banking discussions. (e.g. Protected borrowing, Wealth 4 pillar strategy)
- Design and own L&H distribution sales effectiveness framework, OKRs and scorecard across all partnership channels, including variable compensation for MMS and other internal channels. Make sound collective scorecard decisions in support profitable growth and best interest of clients and colleagues.
- Own decisions rights and actively manage Mortgage Protection Specialist (MPS) and Term Life Specialist (TLS) sales teams for CP and Term Life respectively.
- Build and evolve the customer-assisted travel sales distribution model for HNW/UNHW in partnership with Wealth, TDI supporting teams and 3rd parties (GEM).
- Support strategy development, identifying distribution structure and requirements for L&H products not currently offered.
- Develop and execute on strategies and winning tactics to support and improve L&H sales rates across all bank channels and products
- Provide distribution insight (client lens) and counsel to TDI and TDBG Journey teams managing change initiatives of evolving or new systems, colleague processes/tools and product features and provide guidance to L&H Journey roadmap development and priority setting.
- Leverage internal and external resources, data, industry conferences, research and partnerships. Understand and stay aware of the competitor landscape and their tactics /market share.
- Evolve channel strategies relative to changing regulatory and risk environment and ensure strategic execution relative to risk appetite
- Influence and meet regulatory and compliance requirements of our sales process through management of key risks, oversight of controls and be thoughtful in managing risks together with TD partners.
- Attract, develop, motivate and retain a high performing team in order to achieve business objectives and foster an ownership, customer centric culture. Establish a working environment that fosters diversity and inclusion and drives employee engagement and career growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Leadership experience as AVP/DVP
- Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
- Demonstrated relationship building skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence
- Demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams and coaching on TD's shared commitments with an emphasis on building a strong ownership mindset with client centricity.
- Robust organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Excellent analytical skills in assessing risk, issues and challenging the status quo
- Retail banking sales /distribution experience an asset
- University degree an asset
