ABOUT YOUR ROLE
The Senior Manager, Portfolio Operations and Governance plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence, governance integrity, and financial oversight across the portfolio management function. This position acts as the central liaison for compliance, audit, and risk-related activities, while driving robust governance frameworks and maintaining alignment with legislative and corporate standards. The role oversees budget tracking, procurement processes, and reporting mechanisms to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, it fosters cross-functional collaboration, manages stakeholder engagement, and ensures seamless onboarding and operational continuity. This position requires a strong blend of analytical, organisational, and communication skills to uphold governance standards and optimise portfolio operations.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Compliance
- Act as the primary liaison for Internal Audit, Operational Due Diligence (ODD), Business Governance, Legal Affairs, and Enterprise Risk
- Monitoring of compliance with Delegation of authority and management of underlying processes
- Maintain and update corporate procedures, Delegation of Authority (DOA) guidelines, and compliance documentation
- Monitor adherence to legislative requirements (e.g., Bill S-211) and support insurance policy reviews
Financial Oversight
- Lead department budget tracking, including YTD analysis and capital planning coordination
- Oversee financial commitments and subscriptions/memberships, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Support procurement and contracting activities, including vendor engagement and renewal tracking
Reporting & Documentation
- Respond to Access to Information requests in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and investment teams
- Maintain dashboards and reporting tools for portfolio performance, capital plan tracking, and CRM data
- Fulfil ad hoc reporting requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Document and update operational procedures, training materials, and quick reference guides
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the central point of contact for internal business partners including Investment Finance, Legal Affairs, Reputational Due Diligence, and Risk
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment across business units
- Manage onboarding for new employees, including training logistics and access provisioning
- Manage external mailbox communications for real estate and portfolio management
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Over seven (7) years of experience in portfolio operations, governance, or financial management
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, audit processes, and enterprise reporting
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and CRM systems
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills
- Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
