About the role

Agricorp is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Finance team in the Corporate Services division. Agricorp’s Finance department is a dynamic, professional team responsible for stewardship of resources through high quality analysis, day-to-day operational excellence and a commitment to a culture of innovation. The Finance team acts as a trusted business partner and advisor providing timely, insightful and accurate analysis and advice.

The Role

The Senior Financial Analyst will coordinate team efforts and ensure accuracy, timelines and adherence to Agricorp policies, procedures and standards as well as generally accepted professional standards. This role provides professional leadership in support of customer service and public accountability, current service/reporting standards, and provides improvement where feasible. You will:

  • Provides immediate Finance professional work (reports, audits, statements, forecasting); oversees the work of other professionals for quality and mentoring; and contributes to long-term results across a broad spectrum of Agricorp (analysis, recommendations, planning)
  • Act as the first point of contact for the escalation of highly complex and highly diverse issues and materials relating to operational accounting
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with leaders at all levels across Agricorp, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness and external auditors
  • Initiate change based on experience, expertise and knowledge of industry-leading practices and trends
  • Collaborate across the organization, exchanging information to understand needs, define financial requirements and provide input into business requirements
  • Support Finance business systems, including system administration functions, acting as a key subject matter expert and liaising with the technical team as required
  • Collaborate with financial operations and reporting team to drive efficiencies in existing financial operations processes.

Salary range: $81,498 - $95,880
Work status: Full time in office
Location: Must live in Ontario to perform this role

Qualifications

  • University degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant professional designation is required (i.e CPA)
  • 5 years’ relevant senior financial experience
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel knowledge is required
  • Experience with Concur, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Power BI and working in the public sector, is an asset
