About the role

Job Title – Field Specialist, WBC

Department – Operations

Reports to – Service Line Manager

Job Summary

The Field Specialist is primarily responsible to support and mentor the Operations team by acting as front-line field support, with a main focus on the Wellbore Construction product line, while cross training within other product lines. They will be required to plan and execute high profile operations, with a focus on primary excellence, safety and job quality. The Field Specialist will provide operational intelligence and support to the North American Sales, and all other NCS business units. They will be required to coordinate with SLM’s, PLM’s, Engineering & Tech Services for any and all product line development, testing and field implementation. As a specialist in operations, they will be required to train and uphold the ongoing development of the NCS Service Line training, while working with all the teams to grow profitable revenue for NCS and grow the partnership with the customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Supervise and plan critical well operations and planning

Organize and liaise with customer and NCS Operations

Complete the well optimization process meeting with customer

Ensure, uphold, and deliver job quality and customer satisfaction

Provide operational support and guidance to the customer of NCS Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and best practices

Diagnose job issues and perform/recommend remedial job steps to ensure operational efficiency

Provide rotational on-call support to North American field operations, districts, and all field representatives

Provide operational support to Business Development and Sales teams in North America

Provide real time updates while in the field on the job operations

Coordinate with and work alongside Tech Services, Service/Product Line Managers on prototype and non-production released tool

Participate in tech reviews & performance review meetings, product development, including product testing and research in the Tech Center

Coordinate with Service/Product Line Managers and Tech Services to assist with field trials

Provide necessary documentation and reporting to Service/Product Line Managers and Tech Services

Attend and provide operational expertise during customer meetings

Maintain and uphold the highest degree of customer support and relations

Coordinate, support and select job specific and customer specific Equipment for upcoming jobs

Support the Dispatch Team with operational insight, and customer specific knowledge

Conduct initial NCS Service Line training (Wellbore Construction & Fracturing System), for any and all field employees and contractors

Conduct in-house Service Line training for the BD, Tech Services and Sales teams

Continuously reviewing SOP’s and updating as conditions, customers, and environments change

Continuously working with manufacturing, tech services and engineering with any field related issues

Continuously working with warehousemen to ensure build processes are being followed and updated when required

Organize and complete operational evaluations on all field representatives on a yearly basis, or as needed

Champion the development of the NCS Service Line training

Help to promote safe work practices and higher standards of performance

Support and uphold HS&E policies and procedures of NCS and the customer

Align individual goals with NCS’s corporate goals, while adhering to and promoting the NCS Promise

Participate in Personal Development for Success (PDS)

Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; preferred

Technical Certificate/Diploma or Degree; preferred

Minimum of 8 years of direct industry experience

Industry related experience including Liner Hangers, Liner Top packers with TBSA, Stage Tools, Open Hole Hydraulic Tools, Permanent Packers, Airlocks or Floatation collars, Toe Ports, Ball Drop systems and Sleeve systems in an Open Hole or Cemented Applications

Drilling Rig Experience is an asset

Previous experience in Wellbore Construction, Fracture Services or Enhanced Oil Recovery

Valid Driver’s license

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites

Experience in SharePoint; asset

Work with other teams, and exhibit effective communication

Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills

Hands - on approach to problem solving

Excellent judgement, ability to plan ahead

High level of efficiency & work ethic, with specific attention to details

Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, manage priorities

Ability to handle stressful situations

Ability to perform job responsibilities in all weather conditions

Perform physical labor when necessary, in addition to standing or travelling for long periods of time

Ability to move or lift 25lbs – 50lbs

Additional Information

Status: Overtime Exempt

Employment Classification: Full-time, Regular

Work Schedule: 15 days on, 6 days off, 12-hour shifts, on call 24/7 while on days on

Special Equipment: Truck, Cell Phone & Laptop

Valid Passport Required

Travel: Domestic travel to various field locations and international travel may be required

Eligibility: Field Compensation Rates

Criminal background check required for all positions

Safety sensitive positions will require additional pre-employment testing
