Parking Attendant (Full-time 4-Month Contract Until February 28, 2026)

We are currently seeking a motivated, reliable, and outgoing team players to join our Atlantic Canada team as a Valet/Parking Attendant on a 4-month contract until February 28, 2026, based at one of our hospital locations in downtown Halifax.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Shift hours will vary depending on operational needs. Shifts may include early mornings, daytime, evenings, and overnight coverage, and can range from 6 to 12 hours in length. Weekend and holiday availability will be required.

Access to reliable transportation is required. A valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5) and clean driving abstract is required with a minimum of three years driving experience.

The ideal candidate has the ability to solve problems, the ability to interact with the public and clients in a professional, empathetic and courteous manner, and is a great communicator.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

OPERATIONS:

  • Greeting and welcoming guests to the property

  • Actively direct traffic at the busiest entrances and exits

  • Issue warnings and/or parking tickets to repeat offenders

  • Answering help calls to assist customers remotely

  • Making and issuing appropriate parking rebate tickets

  • Parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely fashion

  • Operating vehicles safely in confined areas and narrow spaces

  • Performing accurate inspections of vehicles for damage prior to taking into custody

  • Issue and collect valet tickets as required

  • Ensuring safe custody of keys in locked key box

  • Ensuring vehicles are locked after parking

  • Cleaning the work area, and parking area as needed, including key sanitization and litter pick up

  • Answering any questions that guests may have (providing directions, etc.)

  • Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP:

  • Build positive relationships with customers

  • Note the nature of complaints received by customers, and actively help develop and suggest solutions

  • Communicate verbally with customers and clients in English

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • High level of interpersonal skills, including poise and diplomacy

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Previous valet experience considered an asset

  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service

  • Ability to work with a team

  • Able to work outside in all weather (free uniform provided)

  • A valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5) and clean driving abstract

  • A minimum of three years driving experience

  • Able to operate a vehicle in confined spaces without damage

  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is an asset
