About The Role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Part-Time Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West team in Edmonton. In this role, you will be responsible for the receiving, storage, re-direction of all incoming courier packages, goods, supplies and specimens into the Centre departments, warehouse and/or laboratories. Collaboration, respect and integrity are essential in this role.
Formula for success:
- Applying your attentional to detail, you will receive and inspect supplies/products/packages/blood specimens ensure accuracy and completeness of paperwork, and condition of products in accordance with CBS policies and procedures.
- Drawing on your technical skills, you will update various databases for receipts and returns of inventory items, and process receipt of products using computerized system (SAP).
- Utilizing your warehouse experience, you will operates and perform daily checks on high bay reach truck, operate pallet jacks and powered pallet jack, monitor stock levels, expiry dates and order products as required.
- Using your organizational skills, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of bio-medical waste containers, including completion of documentation required.
Desired education and skills:
- Minimum two years related experience in inventory and/or warehouse experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push carts weighing up to 300 lbs.
- Strong communication/interpersonal skills in English are essential.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and work independently.
- Strong computer literacy is required in MS Office and SAP.
- Ability to accurately keep records with attention to detail is required.
- Experience operating a standing reach truck forklift considered an asset.

What you can expect:
- Shifts/hours - must be flexible to accommodate assigned shifts which are based on operational needs; length of shifts varies according to the event which takes place at Canadian Blood Services fixed and mobile donor centers. Shifts include days and the occasional weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday anywhere from 6:30am-6pm.
