About the Role
Paladin Security is seeking professional and dedicated individuals to join our team as Patient Watch Officers in High Prairie. This role is critical to ensuring the safety, security, and confidentiality of patients who may pose a risk to themselves or others.
You will play an essential part in maintaining a safe hospital environment while providing superior customer service and professionalism. Shifts may include both day and overnight work, and you may be asked to travel on short notice to Whitecourt and other surrounding areas within a 500 km radius. Mileage reimbursement will be provided at company rates.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure patient safety, reporting any changes to security or hospital staff.
- Support hospital staff, patients, and visitors by de-escalating tense situations professionally.
- Document all incidents and maintain accurate patient interaction logs.
- Operate two-way radios and computer applications for communication and reporting.
- Stay alert and make immediate decisions during emergencies while remaining calm.
- Monitor and control site access, screening visitors as needed.
- Protect confidential patient information and uphold hospital protocols.
Requirements
Must Have Criteria:
- Must live within 1 hour of High Prairie.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Minimum age of 18, with a clean criminal record.
- Authorized to work legally in Canada.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
- Open availability, including weekends and overnights.
Training & Certifications:
- First Aid & CPR – Level C (training provided if not already certified).
- Successful completion of Paladin’s Healthcare Security Training (mandatory upon hire).
Nice to Have:
- Previous security, healthcare, or law enforcement experience.
- Security license (not required for this role).
- CPI, Basic Security Training, or related certifications.
