Job Summary
The Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for managing project-specific health and safety to ensure compliance with current legislation, regulations, and internal corporate health and safety policies, procedures, initiatives, and safe work practices.
This position reports to the Health and Safety Manager. The successful candidate will be stationed at the ATC2 - Advanced Tunnel 2 for Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Project in Eglinton, Ontario.
Duties
Conduct safety inspections and record and report site non-conformities to appropriate site personnel.Conduct incident investigations and ensure required external reporting obligations have been met and assist with the Return-to-Work Program
Conduct site orientations (as per pandemic protocols) and manage site documentation and records.Assist in the development and implementation of new documentation for continuous improvement of the Corporate Health and Safety Management System
Ensure inspection and maintenance of all safety equipment on-site and oversee the JHSC
Oversee rescue team scheduling and related inspections of rescue trailer
Arrange, participate, and document site mock emergency drills
Liaise with external agencies when necessary (MOL, MOE, etc.)
Ensure training compliance for site personnel and subcontractors and update files accordingly
Maintain the SDS library and ensure distribution and communication of new documentation
Monthly participation in worker safety talks to ensure the effectiveness of/bolster, the internal responsibility system
Order safety equipment and supplies as required and approved by the Health and Safety Manager
Performs other related duties as assigned

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Self-motivated and flexible

Must have a valid “G” Ontario driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
