About the role
Position Details Title: Lead Java Angular Developer Location: Toronto, ON, Canada Duration: Contract Work Mode: Hybrid (2 Days Onsite)
We welcome candidates with all Canadian work authorization types, provided they are legally authorized to work in Canada. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Struts, and Angular. Develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs while building responsive frontend applications using Angular. Configure, deploy, and support applications on Oracle WebLogic Server. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the UI, middleware, APIs, databases, and caching layers. Develop and optimize SQL queries and database objects in Oracle or other relational databases. Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development efficiency. Participate in enterprise application modernization and enhancement initiatives. Follow Agile development practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards and performance optimization. Required Skills Strong expertise in Java 18 and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, Hibernate, and TopLink. Strong EXPERTISE developing frontend applications using Angular. Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP Web Services, and enterprise application integration. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JSON, and XSLT. Strong SQL skills with Oracle or other relational database management systems. Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server configuration, deployment, and administration. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across frontend, backend, API, database, and caching layers. Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools. Strong understanding of programming best practices, code quality, design patterns, and performance optimization. Technical Mix: Approximately 70% Java (Spring Boot/Struts) and 30% Angular development. Preferred Experience Experience working in the Insurance domain. Familiarity with full-stack troubleshooting across UI, middleware, APIs, and database layers. Exposure to enterprise modernization, migration, or enhancement projects. Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
