MAKING AN IMPACT Reporting to the Lodge Manager, the Housekeeping Attendant will work with a diverse group of guests, employees, and volunteers and will be responsible for housekeeping duties at the Daffodil Place.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
- Provide a high level of customer service within the context of the program delivery model
- Support clients to become familiar with the lodge environment including providing tours if needed and encouraging participation in on site programming
- Maintain non-medical boundaries with clients.
- Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions and provide input to program challenges and shared projects
- Ensure standards, policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
- Follow emergency procedures and safety protocols to ensure client safety and security at the Lodge, including responding to emergencies such as medical issues or suspected theft in accordance with site policies.
- Contribute to our culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE) by ensuring that all staff feel represented, valued, and heard across all aspects of their identity, including gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, and sexuality.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
- Previous cleaning experience is an asset
- Willingness to adapt to our proven cleaning methods is required
- Attention to detail in maintaining quality service is imperative.
- Possess an outgoing, positive, and encouraging attitude, and have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all guests is required
- Experience working with confidential/personal information is necessary.
- English is required, French/Bilingualism (French /English) is an asset due to the organization’s nationwide operations.
