Human Resource Assistant

About the role

The Human Resources Assistant reports to the Director, Client Services, and provides essential human resources, onboarding, and credential management to the Carecor Halifax office. Working closely with Carecor recruiters, this role supports a smooth and efficient hiring process for new employees. The Human Resources Assistant also assists the Director, Client Services with maintaining healthcare provider credentials and responding to a wide range of human resources and administrative inquiries and requests from Carecor staff.

**Status:**Full-time, Permanent

Hours of Work:

37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Hybrid remote work may be offered periodically

**Reporting Relationship:**Halifax Branch Director, Client Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Human Resources department, including human resources requests, and credential inquiries.
  • Coordinate and manage the onboarding and credentialing process for all new hires
  • Provide administrative support to Halifax Recruiters, the Director of Human Resources, and office staff
  • Receive, verify, and electronically file employee credentials and other mandatory documentation
  • Administer the Employee Referral Bonus Program for Carecor healthcare staff
  • Maintain HR databases and generate reports using Carecor’s employee scheduling and recruitment system (UKG)
  • Responding to employee requests for employment confirmation letters and similar documentation
  • Manage ongoing credential compliance requirements for healthcare staff
  • Provide administrative UKG support during Carecor General Orientation sessions
  • Manage the annual College of Nurses renewal verification process
  • Coordinate the annual independent contractor contract renewal process
  • Participating in meetings as required
  • Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience providing human resources or administrative support in a healthcare setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with data entry and document verification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced recruitment and office environment
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources studies is considered an asset but is not required
