This role requires proven experience and artistic versatility to handle a variety of technical art challenges. You will collaborate with the art team to improve the look and feel of our game using Unreal Engine 5. You’ll also be tasked with developing advanced screen functionality for our UI Artists, building UI and HUD screens, creating widget blueprints and shaders, maintaining performance issues while supporting the more technical aspects of crafting art.

What You’ll Do

  • Build UI screens and HUDs by using backend code functionality developed by our engineers.
  • Enjoy creative problem-solving and have the chance to create prototypes and iterate on your work by using UE 5.
  • Partner with our Leads and Artists, to establish high performing content workflows and any tools to further the quality of life of UI Artists.
  • Ensure that solutions are optimized following the aspired style, technical requirements and production constraints while crafting and maintaining verbose workflow documentation and training materials for your work.
  • Develop a universal UI widget and screen template library using custom MVVM and UMG code.
  • Develop advanced UI shaders to support the requirements of UI artists.
  • Communicate daily with all teams to ensure the technical art remains in alignment with the project goals.

What Will Make You A Great Fit

  • Experience using node-based shader networks such as those found in Unreal Editor.
  • Knowledge of CgFX, HLSL, or CG from a technical artist's perspective.
  • Proficiency in modern industry standard 3d Software, including Substance Designer/Painter, Houdini, and Maya.
  • Experience working with UE Blueprints building tools for Artists.
  • Experience with UMG scripting.

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Experience with Unreal MVVM is a bonus.
