ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Projects Manager, Office of the General Manager, DCX, this position serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the assigned departments. This role builds trusted relationships, aligns business needs with IT capabilities, and drives value through technology solutions that support organizational goals.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Develop deep understanding of departmental business strategies to align technology initiatives with business goals.
  • Build trusted relationships with leadership to identify opportunities, risks, and priorities for digital transformation.
  • Act as a strategic advisor on technology planning, innovation, and improvement.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business units and DCX, ensuring mutual understanding of goals, priorities, and challenges.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions to identify opportunities where technology can enhance business outcomes and service delivery.
  • Lead the development of business cases, roadmaps, and solution proposals that align with organizational strategy and departmental needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and governance.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of services and solutions, ensuring they meet business expectations and deliver value.
  • Champion change management and communication strategies to support successful adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Support project planning and execution by providing business context, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partner and internal teams to ensure effective delivery and support of IT solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of annual departmental plans and strategic initiatives in partnership with business leaders and DCX.
  • Represent DCX in leadership discussions, ensuring data, information and technology perspectives inform business decisions.
  • Monitor emerging trends and recommend technology strategies to support evolving business needs.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and insights for leadership to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to junior positions.
  • Regularly shares information about initiatives and best practices with division and departmental staff. Assists the Project Manager in developing an annual plan for the noted departments, ensuring alignment with DCX and the Region’s strategic direction.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Systems Technology, or related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in information systems project implementation and support.
  • Experience in assessing application technology and end user needs and recommending solutions.
  • Knowledge of the application development cycle.
  • Knowledge of trends in the use of current information technology.
  • Project management, presentation, problem solving, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to aid in the design, configuration and implementation of business transaction processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate the Region’s core competencies.
