Registered Nurse - Palliative Care
About the role
The Registered Nurse in our Palliative Care program is accountable to the Clinical Manager or delegate and will provide nursing care to the patients in St. Peter's Hospital. The RN will also be an active member of the Health Care team and be skilled in caring for patients, maintaining quality of life, comfort and autonomy.
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing and currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Three years of clinical experience in the care of patients with Palliative Care and medically complex needs Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities. Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions - both patient conditions and environmental conditions. Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to life-long learning. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and preceptorship of nursing students. Strong assessment skills for patients and families with complex needs. Ability to attend work regularly; demonstrated by an acceptable attendance record.
