What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Director, Centralized Applications, Automation, and Governance, the Compliance Officer, Technology Governance is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the Capital Markets Compliance’s Program and its strategic initiatives, including (i) the creation of key program metrics, (ii), working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of funded projects, and (iii) oversight of key transformation initiatives.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you’ll succeed
KPI and KRI Development – Establish new program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) relevant to CIBC’s Capital Markets Compliance Program.
Program Enhancement Collaboration – Collaborate with US and Canadian Supervision & Governance Groups to identify and implement opportunities for program enhancements.
Stakeholder Reporting – Prepare periodic compliance program results and project updates for key stakeholders, including heads of regional compliance.
Process Improvement Leadership – Proactively identify and communicate process and practice improvement opportunities to leadership.
Team Coaching and Development – Coach and mentor junior team members to support their developmental goals.
Modernization Initiative Management – Manage modernization initiatives that drive efficiencies through capacity creation and, where applicable, cost savings or cost avoidance.
Audit and Review Coordination – Centrally manage internal and external audits, reviews, and examinations, including coordination with CEEP and internal audit teams.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate experience You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You’re proficient in using PowerPoint and Excel. You have a Proven track record of developing KPIs and KRIs. It’s an asset if you have project management experience.
- It’s an asset if you have a 4-year undergraduate degree and bring 3–7 years of experience in capital markets, compliance, audit, or project management.
- You understand the industry. You are familiar with global financial markets, trading practices, and regulatory requirements.
