What You Get To Do:
- Develop, install and troubleshoot electrical requirements for new equipment during initial start-up
- Maintain the plant’s machinery and equipment, while optimizing processes to minimize production disruption
- Support production with problem solving and support maintenance when equipment and/or process issues arise.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, including PLC (Allen-Bradley) and motor controls, safety sensors and relays
- Respond to equipment breakdowns; execute mechanical repairs in a timely manner including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drives, bearings, and gears
- Develop a preventative and predictive maintenance program
- Execute and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Identify areas for capital expenditure improvements to optimize processes. Present ideas with estimated capital and ROI details.
- Develop, document, maintain and train staff on standard operating procedures (SOP's) and process parameters.
- Monitor and reduce scrap levels, disposition seconds into useable product
- Maximize efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data.
- Develop and document bill of materials (BOM) information in ERP for equipment and maintain spare parts inventory
- Execution of planned and reactive maintenance work
- Strive to achieve all maintenance department business, quality and safety goals
- Be an active participant in the company’s EH&S program if assigned
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies.
- Maintain and keep current on professional designations and licenses
- Travel domestically and internationally for the purposes of training and equipment procurement
- Availability to work or be on call during evenings and/or weekends as required to support 24/7 manufacturing
- All other duties as may be assigned from time to time
What You Bring to the Team:

1-5 years of Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
-
Engineering degree or diploma from a Canadian university or college, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics
-
Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
-
Exceptional mechanical and electrical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment)
-
Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and manuals for equipment
-
Experience in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Solidworks) CAD
-
Ability to create designs from scratch and issue fabrication expanded view and detailed drawings
-
Advanced working knowledge of electrical, PLC programming, motor controls
-
Over 1 year of experience in Allen Bradley, Compact Logix, Control Logix PLC and Panel view HMI programming
-
Strong ability to organize and lead multiple, simultaneous projects
-
Machine shop hands on experience (lathe, milling machine, band saw, etc.)

Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 50lbs)

Working knowledge of local and Canadian electrical and safety codes
-
Strong organizational skills and time management skills

Ability to problem-solve and execute solution, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment

Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
