Your role
Reporting to the Director of Risk Control, the Risk Control Consultant investigates and identifies potential risks and makes recommendations. This role provides support to the Commercial Lines Department and requires a strong knowledge of industrial processes, associated dangers, as well as the ability to effectively assist and inform clients through the duration of their coverage.
What you bring to the position
- Minimum 5 years of risk and control management experience
- Bilingualism required (French/English) (QC ONLY)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, investigative and negotiation skills
- Strong time management, problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency in Office 365
- Strong relationship building skills
- Industry knowledge related to area of risk
What you will do
- Assess risks through client visits to determine the likelihood of a loss, implement corrective measures as needed, and follow up or assist the client in improving their controls.
- Develop probable loss scenarios based on information provided by the broker.
- Provide advanced consulting services on improving risk management and controls to clients, underwriters, and brokers.
- Analyze and evaluate technical reports to determine probable losses and provide an informed opinion on the quality of a risk within its category.
- Assist in the creation of technical bulletins, internal training materials and presentations to underwriters and clients.
- Support underwriting in potential sector-specific programs.
